For renowned interior design company Burdifilek, every project is an opportunity to break through the barriers of what they’ve done before. Never falling into one category, the design duo’s work is ever-changing and constantly inspired by the travels, culture, and local artisans they encounter from around the globe. Creative Director Diego Burdi and Managing Partner Paul Filek consider this the key to their success. “We strive to reflect global changes within our work, which is a pinnacle component to our success,” Burdi says. Embracing sophistication and distinctive global influences has helped them establish a 26-year-old design studio that continues to inspire the industry with every project they create.
The job seems simple enough—to translate their clients brand into a well-designed space. But Burdifilek’s talent lies in the ability to take the simple and create something truly extraordinary. Whether it’s Holt Renfrew’s sleek and elegant main floor or the contemporary oasis at the W Hotel in Atlanta, each design is an in-depth reflection of the brand’s innate identity. “When we can connect with clients through a vision, it is always exciting to see that vision come into fruition,” says Burdi. From creation to development to execution, Burdifilek makes detailed decisions to further their client’s brand experience and voice, wherever that takes them.
Their success is due, in addition to both Burdi’s and Filek’s obvious and seasoned talents, in large part to their ability to perfect the balance between client satisfaction and full artistic freedom. Burdi’s distinct skills in cross-referencing influences and circumventing trends allows him to design in a field all his own. One where his style is always morphing and always innovative, while still staying true to their client’s vision.
